Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization Presents
Uptown Jackson, MO
Saturday, October 12th
Whether you bring out your furry four-legged friend for the dog parade, or you set your chair up on the courthouse lawn to listen to some music, there is a wide variety of things that you can enjoy at Uptown Jackson's first ever Oktoberfest on October 12.
Live music for Oktoberfest will be kicked off by Butch's Polka Kings at noon. Other performers include Tungsten Groove playing classic southern rock, Old School Hype with their eclectic mix of rock and alternative, the Heartland Pops Chorus singing pop music, as well as a DJ during Cruisin' Uptown Jackson.
The event will be highlighted by several activities, including an Apple Pie Baking Contest. Prizes will be awarded in this contest for best tasting, best looking, and best family recipe story. There will also be a dachshund parade (all breeds are actually welcome) with a gift basket of doggie treats for the best costume. The Cruisin' Uptown Jackson Car Show will also take place featuring both classic beauties and today's top favorites. Arts and crafts vendors will be set up as well offering fun seasonal findings.
Food vendors will be offering German-themed eats such as popcorn in a variety of flavors, brats, polish sausage, sauerkraut, pork burgers, hot dogs, apple dumplings, pretzels, baked goods, snow cones, German potato salad and more. Vendors include Cook's Bar-B-Que, Sugar Buzz Bakery, Kona Ice, McAlister's, and Gus' Pretzels. Family-style tables will be available providing a place to sit and enjoy the food.
The final highlight of the event is the Biergarten. The package for the beer tastings is $10 and includes a 14oz beer stein and three beer tastings. Additional beer tastings are $3 each. Bluff City Beer, River Eagle Distributing, and Kohlfeld Distributing will all be on hand with the season's popular flavors of beer. Please refer to the flyer below to see many of the beers that will be available.
Oktoberfest is free to attend, however some of the activities will have a small fee. Check out the flyer below for all of the details, or you can visit Uptown Jackson Oktoberfest on Facebook.
